-
The first session is an opportunity for you and the counselor to get to know each other. You’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and what you hope to achieve from counseling.
-
The counselor will ask a variety of questions to better understand your background, challenges, and overall well-being. This helps in identifying any underlying issues or problem areas to help fully inform the best direction for your work together.
-
Based on your concerns, you and the counselor will establish goals for therapy. These goals guide the focus of your sessions and provide a framework for progress.
-
In each session, you’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with the counselor’s support. This may involve talking about past experiences, identifying patterns, and discussing how these affect your current life.
-
The counselor will present various tools, techniques, and coping strategies to help you manage challenges, improve mental health, and work toward your goals. This could include mindfulness, stress management, or communication skills. All interventions are individual and optional. There are plenty of choices.
-
Over time, you’ll review your progress, adjust goals as needed, and continue to deepen your self-awareness. Counseling is a collaborative process, with the counselor offering guidance while you take an active role in your growth.
-
Once you’ve met your goals and feel equipped to manage future challenges, counseling may conclude. However, you are always welcome to return when needed for additional support or guidance in the future.
Depending on your needs, counseling may be short-term or ongoing, a space for personal growth and healing. The counseling process is aimed at helping you achieve lasting change and holistic health and well-being.
